Vineyard Monitoring

LoraWine employs a capillary and distributed monitoring system at the vineyard level. Thanks to sensors capable of measuring fundamental parameters of the microclimate, soil, and the plant itself, the system provides a complete and dynamic view of what happens in every plot, enabling timely and effective decisions.

Data is collected automatically and transmitted via a proprietary LoRaWAN IoT network that requires no cellular coverage or internet connection. The sensors are small, robust, and designed to withstand the environmental conditions of agricultural settings. Continuous, distributed monitoring across different sampling points represents a significant step forward compared to traditional methods, offering accurate information about the real conditions characterizing each vineyard area.

Agrometeorological Parameters

The agrometeorological stations installed in the vineyards detect essential physical parameters in real-time: air temperature and humidity, precipitation and leaf wetness, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, solar radiation, soil temperature and moisture.

All collected data flows into the LoraWine platform where it is processed, historicized, and made available in real-time, forming the informational basis for hyperlocal weather forecasts, calculation of advanced agronomic indices, and activation of customized alarms.

Canopy Microclimate

The canopy microclimate is one of the most decisive environments for grape health. Humidity trapped between leaves, temperature near the clusters, and leaf wetness directly influence the development of pathogens such as downy mildew and powdery mildew.

LoraWine positions miniaturized sensors directly inside the leaf wall, where conditions can differ significantly from those detected by traditional instruments placed at standard height. This close-range detection provides more representative data of the actual environment where grapes grow, improving the accuracy of predictive models.

Small and Robust Sensors

LoraWine sensors are designed to withstand the harshest environmental conditions: rain, hail, high humidity, temperature fluctuations. The compact and sturdy design doesn't interfere with ordinary agricultural activities and guarantees measurement stability and durability over time.

LoRaWAN technology allows them to operate with long-lasting batteries (up to 10-15 years), drastically reducing maintenance needs and ensuring continuous, reliable monitoring season after season.

Automatic PDF Reports

LoraWine allows generating automatic PDF reports that summarize key environmental, agronomic, and phenological data for a given period. Reports are customizable and can be scheduled for periodic generation, eliminating the need for manual processing.

Reports include charts, summary tables, and key indicators that simplify data reading even for those without specific technical skills. They can be shared with consultants, agronomists, and winemakers to facilitate collaboration and decision-making.
