LoraWine and Banca del Vino present: Data ut Vinum

On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM, Banca del Vino in Pollenzo (Piazza Vittorio Emanuele 13, Pollenzo, CN) will host the presentation of Data ut Vinum, the system through which LoraWine brings together, in a single platform, the data collected from eno-climatic sensors distributed across vineyards and cellars with the agronomic and enological analyses of partner wineries.

The initiative, developed in partnership with Banca del Vino, a project founded by Slow Food, takes place in the venue that has preserved the historical memory of Italian wine for over twenty years. A deliberate choice, designed to visually represent the connection between value, data, and wine.

At the heart of the event, two installations designed by MACRO translate into visual and physical experience the journey from data collected in the vineyard to agronomic and enological decisions made in the cellar.

The second part of the event shifts the focus from technology to people. Agronomists, oenologists, and researchers will discuss the principle guiding LoraWine's development and mission: data acquires value only when it is transformed into meaning through the experience of those who work in the vineyard and cellar every day — not when it replaces them.

The event closes with a tasting of wines from Cantine e Poderi Oddero and Ettore Germano, two of the wineries that have embraced LoraWine's innovative vision.

"Data, like wine, is stored, matures, and gains value over time. But unlike an object in an actual bank, data must be carefully managed in order to be queried and compared — otherwise it stops being useful. Data ut Vinum represents this, one of the principles that has guided LoraWine from the beginning: building tools that allow winegrowers to extract value from their own production processes without altering them, and without replacing their experience with that of the machine."

"Banca del Vino is, even before being a physical place, a project dedicated to Italian wine culture, built year after year with the support of its selected member wineries. A project that, in turn, aims to be a reference point for winegrowers through its role as a promoter of Italian wine culture, a custodian of memorable historic vintages, and, as of today, thanks to Data ut Vinum, a custodian of data collected in the vineyard which, by integrating with human experience, will be able to guide the future agronomic and enological decisions of wineries."

Federico PiemonteDirector — Banca del Vino

"With this installation, we wanted to further bring the world of technology closer to that of agricultural tradition. Our broader design approach focused on the intersection between physical and digital: hybrid interfaces and interactions create a bridge between the two worlds and preserve a strong tangible realism even within the virtual universe of data and AI. Data collected in the vineyard thus becomes living matter, to be preserved and allowed to mature over time, just as is done with wine."
